REEDSBURG, WI, December 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) Mad Hatter hat sales have remained strong despite Halloween having taken place over a month ago. This is the conclusion of a recent study completed by an online merchant of Halloween costumes. While more hats were sold in October than in any other month, people have continued to purchase top hats worn by the famous Mad Hatter from the Alice in Wonderland movie. Due in large part to the box office success of Tim Burton's recent version of the film, the Mad Hatter hat ( http://madhatterhats.net/ ) is becoming a popular item of clothing.
"People are recognizing that the hat can be worn any time of the year, not just for Halloween," noted a representative from the website http://madhatterhats.net. "Dressing up in the complete Mad Hatter costume on a regular Saturday night is probably over the top, but wearing the hat while you are hanging out with friends is something that a lot of people do now. We can thank Johnny Depp's performance in the movie for that!"
The continued success of Mad Hatter top hats ( http://madhatterhats.net/ ) is surprising, as sales of most Halloween costumes and accessories usually plummet once the calendar turns to November. Halloween retailers typically have to reduce prices drastically just to draw interest from shoppers, and many styles of costumes get discontinued altogether. Some Hatter hats are being offered at a discount, but the magnitude of price reductions is very small compared to the typical costume. This indicates that the Mad Hatter top hat will remain among the most popular novelty items for several years to come.
