Ditch for Kids To Celebrate National Child Awareness Month in September
2010-09-01
COSTA MESA, CA, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) In celebration of the third annual National Child Awareness Month (NCAM) in September, Festival of Children Foundation today launches "Ditch for Kids", a light hearted program on Facebook to remind adults to spend quality time with the kids in their lives by ditching an everyday activity such as work, chores or even social media.

A downloadable "excuse" letter, available on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/FestivalofChildrenFoundation, explains the importance of Ditch For Kids, to the person or thing of choice. Possibilities include the boss, chore-related objects such as the washing machine, lawnmower, or even Farmville. The letter is available on the Foundation's Facebook page throughout the month of September.

The recognition of NCAM can be attributed to Sandy Segerstrom Daniels, Founder & Executive Director of Festival of Children Foundation, who has been diligent in raising awareness of issues facing youth across the country through the local, state and federal political processes and by enlisting the assistance of charitable organizations nationwide. Bearing a striking resemblance to Festival of Children Foundation's goals and objectives, NCAM recognizes the charitable efforts on behalf of children and youth as a critical contribution to the future of our nation.

"Our goal with National Child Awareness Month is to raise awareness for the needs of children in the United States, including the simple need for more time with parents, grandparents and other 'grown-ups'quality adults," said Sandy Segerstrom Daniels. "'Ditch for Kids is the perfect excuse to leave that load of laundry or pile of dishes even for just an afternoon to show children how important they are and help them reach their potential."

Although Festival of Children Foundation supports more than 400 member organizations, NCAM is meant to raise awareness for all children's charities nationwide, and all are invited to take part in NCAM's mission to focus America's attention on four guiding principles:

Nurture one child. That's all it takes to make a difference.
Children are the future of philanthropy. It's our responsibility to teach them the importance of sharing and giving back.
Actions speak louder than words. Find a children's cause that's important to you and get involved.
Many hands make light work. So join forces with those who share your goals and dreams.

Festival of Children Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that serves to bring together and coordinate the efforts of charities, companies and individuals who actively work to improve the lives of children. Festival of Children Foundation gives a voice, guidance and support. 100% of the administrative costs are covered by designated funding, allowing donations to go further in direct support of programs and services that improve the lives of children. Fisher Capital Management Report, Part 1 - Output growth exceeded what were once considered lofty expectations during the third quarter, as real GDP (inflation adjusted Gross Domestic Product) rose by a 3.5% annual pace from the previous quarter. To be sure, this was the first gain in economic activity after four consecutive quarterly declines in GDP. While technically this indicates an end to the recession, we point out that on a year-over-year (YOY) basis, economic activity has still declined 2.3%, yet it represents an improvement from the -3.8% YOY in the second quarter, ...
