PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) Prague visitors with an interest in interior design trends may be attracted by the forthcoming Designblok exhibition.
Taking place in the Czech capital between October 5th and 10th, this annual event is dedicated to showcasing new pieces of design from around the world.
The organisers have announced that water will be the theme of this year's exhibition, as the three main districts hosting the events - Holesovice, Karline and Stare Mesto (Old Town) - all feature riverside locations.
People staying in Prague hotels will notice this theme reflected on the poster for Designblok, which was designed by Czech photographer Salim Issa and depicts a swimmer poised to jump into the River Vltava.
Selected showrooms and galleries across the city will be involved in the exhibition, with many events free to enter.
Designblok displays are set to be divided into three main categories - Creme de la Creme, Designer's Prototype and Designmarket.
The former will relate to presentations from established manufacturers and distributors, with preference given to new designs implemented in the past calendar year.
Elsewhere, Designer's Prototype will offer a platform for people to demonstrate original products and concepts without a manufacturer, while Designmarket provides a space for the sale of new items.
For more information on this event, visit the Designblok website or contact the organisers on (+420) 267 990 5456.
