Top 10 Reasons to Shop Online for Christmas

Most people agree that online shopping is more convenient than traditional shopping, but for those that still need convincing, the reasons listed below will surely have them doing this year's Christmas shopping online.

2010-12-17
SAN DIEGO, CA, December 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Each year the number of people that shop online and the amount of purchases they make increases. This year has been no exception. Shopping online offers many perks over shopping in person. Online shopping is the easier and perhaps smarter solution.

Below are the top 10 reasons why holiday shopping should be done online, from the comfort of home.

1. Convenience - There is no need to deal with lines, fight over parking spots, sit in traffic, or drive from one store to the next.

2. Variety - There is a bigger selection to choose from when shopping online. There are more colors and sizes offered and even customizations that can be made. Certain sizes or styles can only be purchased online and are not offered at local retailers.

3. Niche Stores - There are a lot of niche stores online such as MedievalCostumesandGifts.com that carry items that cannot be found in stores.

4. Free Shipping - Shipping is usually free or discounted, especially over the holidays. Most online retailers offer shipping and sale promotions during the holidays. For example, many websites offer free shipping if you spend "x" amount of dollars.

5. No Sales Tax - Amazon.com never charges state tax. The only time buyers are required to pay state taxes from online retail companies is when the online company is located in the same state as the buyer.

6. Easy Research - It is simple to research products and read reviews left by other customers who have already purchased the same item. There are even web forums to discuss items before they are purchased.

7. Delivered to Your Door - This makes shopping for larger items simple. It also makes sending a gift more convenient. Arrangement of purchased items to nearly any desired shipping location is easily done.

8. Comparison Shopping - There is no need to walk from one store to the next looking for the best deal, only to realize the best deal was at the first store. A buyer can easily search for the cost of the same item on various websites.

9. Save on Used Items - There are a lot of good, used products to purchase at a discounted price. Ebay.com is great for shoppers on a budget.

10. Shop Anytime - There is no need to even get of bed to shop. This is especially convenient for areas with bad winter weather where driving can be inconvenient and dangerous. This is also great for people who do not live close to cities where main shopping centers are located.

There is no need to give it a second thought. Online shopping is clearly the smarter, simpler, and cheaper way to go about your holiday gift-giving. Happy Shopping!
