ST. PETERSBURG, FL, December 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) Gary Adams, owner of Gulf Coast Painting & Waterproofing, Inc. has announced a plan to help customers who need a break by offering free paint for people wanting to improve their homes, or businesses, but are struggling in these difficult times.
According to Adams: "I'm seeing so many people lately who need to hire a paint contractor, but simply can't afford it - people who love their homes, but who have been hit hard by the recession. I'm talking about families of our armed forces overseas, disabled people, widows, people recently divorced, the owners of businesses in depressed neighborhoods, rental investment owners who've lost their shirts and people struggling to pay their mortgages. These people need a break!"
When a painting contractor quotes a price, he includes the cost of paint in the estimate. Often there are several gallons of paint left over after the work is complete. That paint is then carted away by the contactor and warehoused. As a result large companies like Gulf Coast, end up with hundreds of gallons of unused paint which are then used on future jobs, or discarded.
Rather than use this paint to improve his bottom line, Adams would like to give it freely to customers who can use the savings.
"We have a few hundred gallons of paint right now and a wide variety of colors, which we can mix and match to create most shades anyone might want, but the offer is on a first come first serve basis and you may have to be a bit flexible." Said Adams: "The bottom line is, if you need your home, or business painted and you really need a break, we'd like to help you."

SGS Assists Companies Wishing to Audit Against the New Global Social Compliance Programme
2010-12-19
Until now, many companies have had to submit to repeated auditing around core ILO conventions, with slight variations in content or audit methodology. This has resulted in a significant duplication of effort for many producers, who have as a result had less time to address audit outcomes. For many producers there has been no way to address this situation, as customers have generally not been prepared to accept audits conducted according to conventions other than their own.
In a joint effort to improve the situation, major retailers met in 2007 to discuss a Unified Code ...
