Network Hardware Resale Returns to the Inc. 5000 List as One of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies

World's Leading Provider of Pre-Owned Networking Gear Earns a Prestigious Spot among the Nation's Top Companies for the Fourth Consecutive Year

2010-09-01
SANTA BARBARA, CA, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned and new networking equipment, today announced that for the fourth consecutive year Inc. magazine has recognized the organization as one of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The exclusive Inc. 5000, which was unveiled today, represents a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the U.S. economy—America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. As a group, these prestigious companies represent the best of the best in the American spirit of free enterprise, innovation and hard work.

"The leaders of the companies on this year's Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression," said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. "The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs."

This year NHR was No. 48 on the list of the nation's top computer hardware companies with an overall ranking of No. 4,058, based on consistent three-year revenue increases. Plans for propelling continued business expansion for NHR include broadening the company's international footprint while elevating its stature as the global leader of top-notch networking product procurement, advanced technical support and alternative maintenance programs.

"To earn a spot on the prestigious Inc. 5000 for the fourth straight year represents both a great honor and further validation of NHR's corporate mission to help our customers worldwide maximize their IT budgets," said Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of NHR. "We've been able to sustain continued growth during tough economic times by offering our customers the best networking products and support services at an outstanding value. Our overarching focus on product and service quality is what continues to fuel NHR's growth worldwide."

Since 1986, Network Hardware Resale has served more than 10,000 organizations worldwide, including Global 1000 companies, small and mid-sized enterprises, government entities, educational institutions, healthcare organizations and telecommunications service providers, with expedited delivery of fully tested, pre-owned network routers, switches, access servers and IP telephony equipment from leading manufacturers, including Cisco, Juniper, Foundry and Extreme.

Despite the fact that most of this year's measuring period of 2006-2009 took place during the latest recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year. The effects of the recession are seen, however, in the median three-year growth rate, which dropped to 96 percent from last year's 126 percent. Companies on this year's Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year's list.

Methodology
The 2010 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2006 to 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by June 30, 2006. Additionally, they had to be based in the United States, privately held, for profit and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2009. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2006 is $80,000; the minimum for 2009 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. The top 10 percent of companies on the list constitute the Inc. 500, now in its 29th year.
