CARY, NC, August 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Securus Inc., a provider of GPS-based products and technology, today announced the general availability of the SpotLight GPS Pet Locator mobile application for the BlackBerry. SpotLight GPS Pet Locator is the only product that combines GPS tracking technology with the 24/7 American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery (AKC CAR) services, providing a proactive approach to reconnect lost pets with their owners.

"The SpotLight application for the BlackBerry is another way of lowering consumers' anxieties when they have to be away from their pets," said Chris Newton, CEO of Securus Inc. "With the addition of the application, consumers can now get real-time turn-by-turn direction from their BlackBerry. If their pet does go missing, they have the best tools to recover them as quickly as possible."

The SpotLight mobile application for the BlackBerry provides pet owners the capability of monitoring their pet right at their fingertips. The application is feature rich, yet easy to use. Non BlackBerry users are still able to send text messages to perform these functions.

"We are happy to offer this application for free so that SpotLight users will quickly adopt another tool to keep their pet safe and protected at all times," continued Chris Newton.
