MALVERNE, NY, December 23, 2010 (Press-News.org) Girls Are Not For Sale is a campaign that is part of an organization called the girls Educational & Mentoring Service (GEMS). Other celebrities such as Halle Berry, Sinead O'Connor and Mary J. Blige are also involved in the organization to help stop human trafficking. Kwanza tells TheCelebrityCafe.com the organization really hit home for Kwanza because when she was in junior high, someone had attempted to abduct her. Looking back today she still asks herself, "What would have happened if I hadn't gotten out of that care?"
Today Kwanza describes her life like climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro: she is prepared and not afraid. Growing up she learned lessons of how things are not always handed to you and you have to work hard. This lead to her life outlook of: "let me see if I can do it." Kwanza considers herself a fighter, and fighting for what she wants is at her core.
When it comes to her inspiration, Kwanza says it comes from different experiences. "That?s why I travel a lot and outside the U.S in particular because I think what happens a lot is that we can get so caught up in our own world and we become blind to what else is out there and what other people are going through. Traveling helps you get a change of perspective, and interacting with other people really inspires me."
You can really expect something different on Kwanza Jones new album Supercharged. The album "embodies the energy that I have." The major difference is that the album is a lot more danceable. This album corresponds with who she is as a live performer. Expect to be blown out of control by the energy is this album!
