HONOLULU, HI, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) The CIO Finance Summit successfully kicked off Sunday, August 29th in Scottsdale, Arizona at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort. The event brought together CIOs, IT executives, analysts and solution providers to network, attend educational sessions, and make new business contacts.
The CIO Finance Summit opened on Sunday afternoon with a CIO Think Tank session, which brought together 15-20 CIOs and technology executives in an open forum style meeting to discuss best practices around a specific IT topic. The Think Tank session was followed by a welcome address from the event's Master of Ceremonies Martha Bennett, Practice Leader, Financial Services and Retail Technology, Ovum, and a Gala Dinner for all attendees. Highlights of today's agenda, the first full day of the technology event, include a keynote presentation by Vlad Torgovnik, CIO, Consumer, Small Business Banking, Home Loans, and Insurance, Bank of America, on the role of the financial services industry CIO; a case study presentation by H.P. Bunaes, SVP & Director, Risk Management Information and Technology, SunTrust Banks, on business transformation; and an Executive Visions panel discussion on security, identity management and fraud that includes representatives from Citigroup, Bank of America, and Ovum. After a full day of agenda sessions, the day will wrap with a Gala Dinner and keynote presentation on multi function shared services by Wayne Mekjian, EVP & CIO, Information Services, Wells Fargo and Company.
