LateRooms.com - Manic Street Preachers to Play London's O2 Academy Brixton

The O2 Academy Brixton is set to host two rescheduled concerts by the Manic Street Preachers.

2010-12-24
LONDON, ENGLAND, December 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Manic Street Preachers will play two nights at the O2 Academy Brixton in January 2011, with fans of the band expected to flock to London.

Having been forced to cancel tour dates earlier this year due to the illness of lead singer and guitarist James Dean Bradfield, the Welsh outfit have rescheduled their concerts in the capital.

Tickets are still available for the second Brixton gig on Saturday January 22nd, but Manics devotees who are yet to book their London hotels may want to do so without further delay.

The band have enjoyed a reputation as one of the UK's best live acts since the release of their debut album Generation Terrorists in 1992.

With tenth LP Postcards from a Young Man emerging earlier this year, the Manics continue to delight their legions of fans at venues up and down the country.

Having announced their most extensive UK tour to date in support of the new album, the group were extremely disappointed to pull out of the two London gigs in October.

"We were particularly looking forward to playing two nights at Brixton as we have such special memories of previous gigs at this venue," Bradfield said in a statement.

However, the singer's recent return to health means fans can look forward to the group firing on all cylinders once more.

Tickets for the January 22nd show are priced at GBP28.50 plus booking fee.

For more information on this event, visit the O2 Academy Brixton website.

The Dangers of Drowsy Driving and New Jersey Law

2010-12-24
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that one in every six fatal car accidents results from a fatigued driver. This statistic shows why New Jersey's law that criminalizes drowsy driving is necessary to combat the problem of over-tired drivers. In a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, 41 percent of the drivers surveyed admitted to having fallen asleep at the wheel. Also, more than a quarter of the drivers reported that within the last month they drove despite being so tired that they had trouble keeping their eyes open. Drowsy ...

Recession Continues to Affect Divorcing Parties

2010-12-24
In 2008, many predicted that the recession would have a negative effect on marriages, as job losses and mounting debt would lead to more divorces. The divorce rate has steadily declined in the last two years, but the recession has changed the tenor of many divorces. Couples not accustomed to concession found themselves in awkward circumstances where the lack of resources forced them to make economical, "couple-focused" decisions even though they are no longer together. Decisions on Property With the housing market depressed, couples are no longer fighting over who ...

Shortcuts and Forgeries Mar the Foreclosure Process and Should There be a National Blanket Moratorium on Foreclosures?

2010-12-24
By John J. Scura II It was reported in the Washington Post on September 23, 2010, that the already overburdened foreclosure system is now buried in problems due to increased volume, leading to forged signatures, lenders who take shortcuts reviewing borrowers' files, and even judges signing off on foreclosure papers prematurely, deserting their role as final gate keeper. As an attorney, given the fact that we are talking about whether or not people's homes will be saved, I am appalled that such things are happening. Over the last ten years, we have run the gamut from ...
