LateRooms.com - Band of Horses Set for Munich Date

US indie rockers Band of Horses are due to perform at Backstage in Munich on February 13th 2011.

2011-01-06
MUNICH, GERMANY, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) Band of Horses will ride into Germany on their European tour next year, giving fans of the group the perfect excuse to book Munich hotels.

The US indie outfit are set to perform at the Bavarian capital's Backstage venue on Sunday February 13th as one of three German appearances, with tickets for the gig likely to be snapped up quickly.

Riding high on a wave of critical acclaim for recent album Infinite Arms, Band of Horses have established themselves as one of the top acts on the alternative rock scene in America.

Based around lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Bridwell, the group formed in Seattle and released their debut LP Everything All the Time in 2006.

Sophomore effort Cease to Begin emerged the following year and was similarly well-received, with the band appearing at the UK's famous Glastonbury Festival in the summer of 2008.

After a line-up change and a switch from cult independent label Sub Pop to a major record company, Band of Horses released Infinite Arms in May this year.

The Guardian's Dave Simpson was just one of the critics who heaped praise on the album, describing it as a blend of "classic Americana" and influences from the great British songwriters.

"A much bigger, more spacious sound has been achieved without sacrificing intimacy or their old elemental sense of wonder," he commented.

Support for the band's concert in Munich will be provided by Mike Noga and the Gents.

Tickets are priced at EUR25.30 (GBP21.80) and doors will open at 19:30 local time, with the music due to begin at 20:30.
