Record Label Accepts Unusual Investors

The label has allowed the common everyday music lover to invest in the future of music and its success.

2011-01-06
ATLANTA, GA, January 06, 2011 (Press-News.org) There has been much talk lately about whether record labels have a future in the digital age. Madonna recently quit her lifelong record label, Warner, in favor of a deal with concert promoter Live Nation, while Prince gave his latest album away, and there are a string of new websites that aim to cut label bosses out of the equation and hand more power to the musicians and their fans.
But newly formed label Capella Records of Capella Music Group believes that not only do record labels have a future, they can also represent a good investment opportunity for music lovers. Capella Records was a label established to bring real artistry back. This label focuses on developing artist with long lasting careers verses chasing a hit like most of the labels of today. Capella Records specializes in RnB, Pop, Rap, Gospel and Rock.

The label has allowed the common everyday music lover to invest in the future of music and its success. It has set out to collect $2 million over the course of this up coming year. So far, more than 50 people have contributed individual investments ranging from $1,000 to $100,000, and there is a real mix of investors, from teachers, hospital workers and accountants to housewives, students and builders. They now own a stake in the label that is related to the size of their investment. The "shareholders" will receive their initial investment back once an agreed (confidential) number of albums have been sold, and they will then continue to receive annual dividends based on the label's performance.

In addition to any financial benefits, investors also get the chance to work closely with an artist they believe in and whose music they like, taking investing to a whole new level.
Along with this new wave of investing, Capella has allowed independent labels the chance to be distributed through them on a global scale reaching over 600 retailers and TELCO customers around the world through a non-exclusive deal. And like its new investment opportunity, the cost to be associated with such an innovative company is affordable for the eager label ready to put in the hard work.
