MADRID, SPAIN, January 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) Foodies all over the world may be tempted to book Madrid hotels when they see the programme for this year's Gastrofestival in the Spanish capital.
Running from January 24th to February 6th 2011, the occasion offers a huge variety of cuisine-related activities to get involved in.
Naturally there will be food tastings, special markets and cooking sessions taking place all over the city - some of which are quite novel, such as the blindfold dinner that aims to heighten the senses.
However, the fun does not stop there, with several food and drink-related films being shown, including the 2004 hit Sideways and 1992's Como Agua Para Chocolate.
In addition to this, attendees can expect to find dedicated exhibitions of paintings linked to food and collections of books and theatre productions focusing on the enjoyment garnered from top-quality cuisine.
Another highlight of the festival is the Gastrofashion section, which sees several artists such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada showcase their creations as part of the festivities.
Each activity is individually priced, with cooking sessions starting from about EUR25 (GBP21.20) and film screenings charged at EUR2 at the Spanish Film Library at Cine Dore.
The sheer volume of exhibitions and workshops on offer means tourists are likely to find something intriguing in their price range somewhere in the city.
For more information on this event, visit the Gastrofestival website.
