Canadian Business Expert Greg Kopchuk Appears On AB Prime Time

Greg Kopchuk with ActionCOACH Business Coaching work appear on Alberta Prime time January 10, 2011 to talk about the recession and Alberta businesses.

2011-01-07
EDMONTON, AB, January 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) Next Monday, Jan 10, 2011 Edmonton-area Business Expert & ActionCOACH Master Licensee Greg Kopchuk will be on Alberta Prime Time, with hosts Jennifer Martin & Jefferson Humphreys.

Among the many topics: what the small business owner can do to grow in 2011 and beyond, planning, expanding to new markets, taking your business around the world, and what kind of services bring new customers in.

Asked recently to comment on the effects of the 2008-9 recession, Kopchuk had this to say: "It's pretty simple, really. Brad Sugars, who founded the company I work for, likes to say a recession will affect you as much as you let it. You can't help but notice that, every time you open the business pages, there are ALWAYS stories about new businesses that aren't just surviving--they're thriving."

"And why is that? Because a recession is, in many ways, good news. It gets rid of a lot of bad ideas, lets the good ones flourish. Look at what the recession did to General Motors: they are 10 times stronger now than they were before the 2008 recession. They're paying back their loans & are now right near the top again. The recession was the best thing that could have happened to GM."

"And there's good news for small business too. A recession means companies abandon a lot of customers--by laying off staff, cutting back, closing offices. NOW is the time to go after all those customers that have been left behind by businesses that didn't survive."

Asked what viewers could look forward to on Monday, Kopchuk replied--"I'm an Edmonton guy and I want to see every Edmonton business succeed. 80% of all new Canadian businesses fail within the first 10 years. I see it as my mission to change that. At ActionCOACH Canada we have a 6 step plan that has helped thousands of businesses go from the red to the black."

"There are all kinds of opportunities out there. The web & the internet mean you now have access to customers undreamt of even 20 years ago. New markets open up every day. And small business owners are in a great position to find & sell to markets that didn't even exist 10 years ago. In January 2001, who cared about marketing to the people on Facebook?"

Greg Kopchuk will be a guest on the Vocal Point Money Panel on Alberta Prime Time January 10, 2011
