MILAN, ITALY, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Tourists keen to see something a little bit different during their time in the luxury hotels Milan has available could check out the furniture created at Home from Home.
This unusual hub of creativity was held at the Rossana Orlandi - a converted tie factory in the centre of Milan - and led by the artistic team JAMESPLUMB, otherwise known as British duo Hannah Plumb and James Russell.
Plumb and Russell worked with a peculiar collection of antique furniture and other retro items to create new decorative and usable objects.
"For us it is like a wunderkammer: we felt so amazed by the quality, vastness and diversity of Orlandi's Archive that we could work here forever," said the pair regarding the materials at their disposal.
What makes the installation even more intriguing is that the two artists carried out workshops at various points of the week while they were creating the pieces, giving visitors a chance to learn more about the creative process.
The customised furniture went on display on November 22nd 2010, with tourists advised to attend soon to avoid missing out on seeing the fruit of Plumb and Russell's labour.
It can be found on Via Matteo Bandello, with the closest Metro station being either Conciliazione or Sant'Ambrogio.
For more information on this event, visit the Rossana Orlandi website or contact the venue on +39 02 46 74 47-1.
