DiPaloSelects.com Now Delivers Exclusive, Award-Winning Extra Virgin Olive Oil From Sicily

From Trapani's olive trees to US tables, Personally Selected by Lou Di Palo

2011-01-14
NEW YORK, NY, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Di Palo Selects.com (www.dipaloselects.com) - the e-commerce site carrying the best artisan foods of Italy and telling the rich culinary story behind each hand-selected product - now offers the new pressing of distinctive extra virgin olive oil produced by "Azienda Agricola Galluffo" in Sicily's Trapani Valley, heart of the historical estate of Marracco. Selected and imported exclusively by Di Palo's, Lochitello Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes in three different varietals: Biancolilla, Cerasola and Nocellara del Belice.

Lou Di Palo hand-selected this olive oil during one of his recent trips to Italy and, impressed by the quality and uniqueness of this product, decided to bring it to the US market. The packaging of the bottle proudly bears the exclusive Di Palo's seal.

The olives for the Lochitello olive oils are picked, harvested, and pressed all within hours. As a result, the oil has an aroma of freshly cut grass with a finish of a fresh green tomato. The Biancolilla is the most delicate and smooth, great as a finish on fish dishes. The Nocellara has the strongest grassy characteristics, with a slight pepper finish. The Cerasuola is fruity and fresh, with a very green olive flavor, great for dressing vegetables. These 'superior category' olive oils are made from olives harvested by mechanical means, comes from the 2010 harvest and is available in 25.4 fl oz. for a retail price of add price.

An award-winning producer, Azienda Agricola Galluffo rises on the extreme northern edge of Sicily and the olive grove, dominated by the old mews, extends over 18 hectares with more than 5,000 young and vigorous plants of Cerasuola, Biancolilla and Nocellara del Belice planted.
