World's First Bed Designed to Work with iPad to Launch at 2011 Philadelphia Home Show

Hollandia International Introduces Technology-Infused "Lifestyle Beds"

2011-01-14
PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Technology has forever changed the way we work, play and now - sleep, as luxury sleep systems manufacturer Hollandia International debuts their new iCon Bed at the Philadelphia Home Show. Created for today's tech-driven lifestyles, the iCon is the world's first bed designed to work with iPad, and features Hollandia's signature adjustable sleep system with a first-of-its-kind custom headboard featuring docking stations for iPad and iPod.

"We presented the iCon at industry trade shows and following the overwhelming response it received, decided to bring it to Philadelphia so that consumers could experience it first hand," said Hollandia Vice President of Operations Maya Ben. "At Hollandia we design our products to offer functionality, versatility, relaxation and comfort so that consumers can be more productive. Whether you want to read, work or fall asleep to relaxing music, this bed truly lets you have it all, then recharges your iPad as you sleep.

"Technology is what drives innovation at Hollandia. We believe it has a place in the bedroom when it can help you relax, unwind and recharge so you can rest well and perform your best the next day," said Ben.

The iCon Bed's upholstered headboard is in a class of its own with its sleek, modern look, along with four fully enclosed speakers, 250 watt amplifier and docking stations for one iPad and one iPod built into the furniture. It is available in more than 200 fashionable colors and fabrics to complement any bedroom decor.

The mattress offers pampering massage features and is fully adjustable. From Hollandia's Platinum-Luxe line, the mattress is made with the company's highly-breathable 3D fabric. The Platinum-Luxe base, which can be used with any Hollandia bed frame, features the most advanced technology in adjustable mattress foundations. These include a Total Safety System that stops the bed's movement for safety purposes, Pneumatic Remote Control, Back Sliding system, a Flexible Shoulder Zone and Telescopic head support.

Hollandia will also debut their new Tradition bed frame, featuring a fully upholstered headboard and bed frame for a luxuriously soft look and feel, and enhanced with distinct nail border detailing. As with all of Hollandia upholstered beds, it is available in hundreds of colors and fabric choices. Prices for Hollandia customized sleep systems start at $6,000 in queen.

An elegant array of convertible beds will also be presented, including the Bolero, a stylish sofa that converts into the most comfortable Vita Talalay latex mattress with just a push; the Felix, a more fashionable version of the modern day futon; and the Convertible, an innovative ottoman that opens up to reveal a supremely comfortable single bed.

To experience the new iCon Bed, among other exciting introductions, visit the Philadelphia Home Show this January 15 to 23 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where Hollandia will exhibit in booth #125.

Hollandia draws upon more than 29 years of perfecting sleep systems to create a unique customer experience combining superior service with the highest quality materials - assuring luxurious rest and relaxation. In addition to its innovative sleep systems, Hollandia manufactures a full range of complementary sleep essentials such as plush pillows, fitted sheets, blankets and mattress protectors. Manufactured in Israel, Hollandia has retail locations in Philadelphia and The Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey. The company has plans to open additional luxury retail centers, as well as partner with other like-minded luxury retailers and wholesalers.
