Olympic and Super Bowl Choreographer Extracts the Extraordinary from the Ordinary

2011-01-14
LOS ANGELES, CA, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) As the Emmy Award winning director/choreographer of the Opening Ceremonies for six Olympic Games, more than a half dozen Super Bowl halftimes, and several World Cup Spectaculars, Doug Jack has shaped over a half million ordinary people into the most extraordinary and awe-inspiring, living, breathing works of art. From a bird's eye view, his work is larger than life. From the ground floor view, the individual performer feels his simple role elevated to something larger and greater than himself.

Doug Jack believes in the Possibility of People, and has written The Backside of Wonderful to inspire us to believe that each and every one of us has the potential to leave a greater mark on life than we can imagine.

"There is no impossible.... Only I'm possible." Doug Jack

• Doug Jack has drawn the extraordinary out of 500,000 ordinary people.
• His book, The Back Side of Wonderful, will inspire you to tap into your own extraordinary potential.

In his new book, The Back Side of Wonderful, Doug Jack takes us backstage as he recounts the collection of extraordinary and ordinary, marvelous and miserable moments that have made up the dance of his life. With tales of wizardry in Torino, Sydney, Barcelona, and Salt Lake City, a secret getaway from an angry mob in Rio, encounters with luminaries like Sophia Loren, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Jackman, and Gloria Esteban, along with an honest look at the pain of loss and a sometimes overwhelming sadness at the sense of being alone in a sea of thousands, the The Back Side of Wonderful is an entertaining, funny, sometimes heart-wrenching testament to the "Possibility of People."

Bio:
Doug Jack began his career at Disneyland from 1981 to 2001, where he was a show director and choreographer. Since then he has choreographed the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for six Olympic Games in Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, Salt Lake City, and Torino. He has also been responsible for the staging of seven Super Bowl halftime shows, the 1994 World Cup Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Miss America Pageant in 1999 and 2000, and several more world class athletic events. Doug Jack received an Emmy Award and the American Choreographers Award for his work at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies. Apart from his work as a choreographer, Doug Jack is an author, motivational speaker, and an artist who works in the uniquely delightful medium of crayons, where he, once again, makes something extraordinary from the ordinary! http://www.dougjack.net
