LateRooms.com - Akmal to Get Crowds Laughing in Cairns

The comedian will play at the Civic Theatre venue midway through next month.

2011-01-20
CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, January 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Comedy sensation Akmal Saleh - better known by his stage name Akmal - will be bringing his latest Australian tour to Cairns for one night only next month.

The February 19th 2011 gig will see the comic cover some of the content included in his memoir The Life of Akmal, a book that covers a diverse range of topics such as his early life in Egypt and being kicked out of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

He is sure to put his unique brand of observational humour on the stories, which means people staying in Cairns hotels who are lucky enough to get tickets should be in for a treat.

Akmal is best known to some through his appearances on popular TV shows, with these performances likely to increase demand for rooms at cheap hotels in Cairns and seats at the city's Civic Theatre venue.

In the past, he has been seen on the likes of Rove Live, New South Wales's The Footy Show, Thank God You're Here and Good News Week, illustrating that his career has come a long way since the early days when he toured as "Peter" to secure bookings.

People who have booked last minute hotel deals in the area for next month can pick up tickets for AU$39.90, with proceedings set to kick off at 20:00 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Cairns Civic Theatre website or contact the venue on (+61) 7 4050 7777.
