NAPLES, ITALY, January 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Hours of the Woman is on show in a gallery in Naples and is likely to please fans of pottery.
This stunning display of items from the Intesa Sanpaolo Magna Grecia ceramic collection showcases a variety of ancient decorative objects, with attendees from Naples hotels invited to learn more about their history and the way they were formed.
About 30 pieces of pottery will be available to view from the borrowed archive, while the Naples National Archaeological Museum has added two ancient vases to the installation, which will run until April 3rd 2011.
"The exhibit offers a selection of all female images, a portrait of the Greek woman filtered through the eyes of the man, the buyer and the designer," noted Napoli Unplugged.
Many travellers heading to the Italian city may already be aware of the venue housing the exhibition, as it boasts a world-famous painting by Caravaggio.
The Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano holds the Martyrdom of Saint Ursula within its permanent collection, which gives art enthusiasts another reason to visit this impressive gallery.
Anyone interested in Italian architecture may also be impressed by the venue, which has been restored in recent years to bring out the original colours of the majestic halls.
Admission to the gallery costs EUR4 (GBP3.35), with concessions priced at EUR3.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00 local time. The arts space is closed on Mondays.
For more information on this event, visit the Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano website or contact the venue on +39 800 1605 2007.
