Law Firm Kershaw Cutter & Ratinoff Seeks Lead Position in DePuy Hip Recall Litigation
2011-01-21
SACRAMENTO, CA, January 21, 2011 (Press-News.org) Today, attorneys from Kershaw, Cutter, and Ratinoff appeared in Federal Court to argue that they should be given a leadership role in the nationwide litigation against DePuy and Johnson & Johnson arising from their recent recall of approximately 100,000 ASR Hip Replacement Systems. Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, which represents hundreds of individuals with recalled hips, argued that that it has the knowledge and experience to adequately take the lead in this litigation.

The national class action law firm has previously been appointed lead counsel in many nationwide class actions and mass torts and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for its clients. At the hearing, their attorneys stressed their years of experience litigating mass tort cases against Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries.

"Over the past eight years I and my partners have been involved in a constant state of litigation against Johnson & Johnson. These include cases arising from the recalls of Vicryl Sutures, Panacryl Sutures, and Intergel. All of these cases were heavily litigated and resulted in settlements shortly before trial. Hence we have a unique appreciation of how Johnson & Johnson does business and really know where all the bones are buried," argued KCR partner Stuart Talley.

A decision from the judge is expected shortly.

Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff have demonstrated their dedication to protecting the legal rights of patients affected by medical devices, as well as their ability to devote substantial resources through trials involving large corporations. Their lawyers have represented thousands of victims of defective medical devices, dangerous drugs and consumer products in cases throughout the United States, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for their clients and the classes they have represented.
