myRMX Launches its App at Nokia's Ovi Store

myRMX announces the launch of myRMX for Nokia Smartphones. An entirely new mobile music experience sits inside Nokia's version of iTunes, their Ovi store.

2011-01-26
LOS ANGELES, CA, January 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) myRMX releases their app that targets fans of music who like to be creative and show/share that creativity off to their friends.

This release is an updated port to Nokia's S60 V3 phones on Ovi with music by Selena Gomez, Mix Mater Mike, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, and Grouch & Eligh. As myRMX continues to add artists from around the world, additional mixPACKs will be introduced on both the Nokia and Apple mobile platforms.

With the Nokia launch myRMX adds 200 million additional handsets to its 85 million iPhone and iPod touch target user base. Having a Nokia version also brings a coolness factor as users now can share their mixes from iPhone/iPod Touch to Nokia and back. "Being able to share between platforms was key for us because not too many apps can do that," says Steven Haun VP of Business Development for myRMX, "And the reason for creating a Nokia version? Well, why would any developer want to leave out over 200 million handsets in 190+ countries?"

In fact myRMX did a technology test last year which ran solely on Nokia Symbian phones. With the aid of only 4 tech bloggers myRMX put out 8 mixPACKs from mostly unknown artists. The result was 360,000 users with over a 1 million downloads.

myRMX is an entirely new Mobile Music Experience that allows worldwide casual gamers and music fans to remix songs and share them with their friends. myRMX has been called "Guitar Hero on Steroids" by Capcom, an international game developer. myRMX is not a rhythm/memory game nor does it simulate a piano, or guitar, or drum kit. What it does is it provides music fans the actual stems from the studio session and allows them to re-imagine the song. It provides a creative environment were the fans can decide where the music goes, not the App.
