SEVILLE, SPAIN, January 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) A Doll's House is being performed in Seville in February and could provide a thought-provoking and fascinating theatrical experience for tourists.
It is often cited as the first ever feminist play due to its criticisms of 19th-century marriage norms and received the honour of being inducted into the Memory of the World Register in 2001.
Written in 1879 by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, the story explores the relationship between married couple Nora and Torvald.
What makes the piece unusual is that the final act, rather than seeing the plot unravel, is a discussion of the action that has taken place previously.
A Doll's House has been adapted various times into films and radio plays and now guests at the accommodation Seville offers can see the piece performed live on stage at the Teatro Lope de Vega from Friday February 18th to Sunday February 20th 2011.
It will be directed by Daniel Veronesse, with the cast featuring Carlos Portaluppi, Maria Figueras, Mara Bestell, Jorge Suarez and Ana Garibaldi.
There will be a show at 21:00 local time on the opening night, 19:00 and 21:30 on the Saturday and 20:00 on the final evening.
Admission to see the performance costs between EUR4 and EUR21 (GBP3.40 and GBP17.95).
For more information on this event, visit the Teatro Lope de Vega website or contact the venue on +34 955 47 28 22.
