Hudsonville Ice Cream has unveiled a new website that is more focused on consumers.The new website is designed to encourage consumer interaction and create more opportunities for dialogue. In addition to improved functionality and a fun, new look, http://www.hudsonvilleicecream.com will feature ways for consumers to share their photos and stories and suggest new flavors. The site, which will also feature a series of fun videos created by the Company, will now connect more easily with Facebook and Twitter.
Additionally, the site will introduce new information that consumers will appreciate, including nutritional information, a more detailed company history and timeline and a video tour of the facility. Consumers interested in the process of making Michigan's premiere branded ice cream will be able to watch videos starring Hudsonville's flavor innovation team.
"We are very pleased to introduce our new and updated website," said Anne Sukup, director of marketing. "The new site offers so many ways for our customers to share their Hudsonville experiences and make suggestions. We are especially excited to hear flavor suggestions from our fans.
"Hudsonville Ice Cream enjoys a strong brand following among consumers, who regularly tell us about their wonderful shared experiences around a bowl of ice cream. We focused on the website as a way for them to share these stories and connections and as a way for us to share additional information with our customers. I think that the website will be something our customers appreciate and enjoy exploring."
The new website also allows for a greater display of flavors, including Hudsonville's expanded line of limited edition flavors, which enjoyed strong consumer acceptance in 2010. For 2011, the company recently introduced Lake Affection, its flavor homage to winter in West Michigan, and signaled its intent to expand this product segment in the coming year.
The new site is designed to put the consumers on the forefront. Information will change more regularly, videos and photos will be incorporated to help enhance the consumer experience, and the wealth of history that has been shared by this community can be shared and built upon from day-to-day. Consumers will also be able to look for store locations much more easily.

Hudsonville's new web site was designed by Visualhero Design Co. The Grand Rapids design studio focuses on branded experiences and user experiences, providing web site development, graphic design, brand management and other services.
"We are excited about how our design and consulting extend the experience of Hudsonville Ice Cream to its website," said Andy Van Solkema, design director. "Hudsonville is a local company creating the best ice cream I have ever tasted, and we approached the creation of their online experience with the same craft they have used for generations. During this process, we found it necessary to do plenty of taste-testing research to ensure we were properly portraying the brand."
The new web site is being implemented by Blue Sky Sessions, a Holland-based company focused on web site creation.
