MSSI Completes 15 Shipping Container Complex with Turnstiles

MSSI completes setup of the largest shipping container modification with turnstiles in company history.

IRONTON, OH, January 30, 2011

A few months ago Modular Security Systems Inc. delivered the largest shipping container modification in company history. This 15 box, shipping container modification with turnstiles and access control was the first of its size for MSSI and we're proud to announce that the unit has been blessed by the customer and are now fully operational.

When construction began 15 forty-five foot long ISO shipping containers were positioned in the manufacturing facility and the cutting began. With the customer's specifications in hand the shipping containers were cut to suit the needs for what now holds full height, access control turnstiles, x-ray machines, metal detectors, GE Entry Scan Puffers that detect explosives, and a ballistic (bullet proof) guard office. As with almost all MSSI shipping container modifications this unit was built to be climate controlled, fully insulated, electrically wired, and data ready.

Once construction at the manufacturing facility was complete the individual modules were pulled apart and covered with a protective wrap and tarps to maintain the modules as they were delivered to the site. As the separated Modular Access Control (MAC) modules, arrived onsite they were reassembled and integrated with the access control detection devises needed to secure the facility. Much like security checkpoints at major airports around the world, the completed shipping container, turnstile combination now operates as a high security entrance that was supplied to the site significantly cheaper than a traditional stick built structure.
