Volunteer this year with Global Ambassadors for Children and make a difference

Global Ambassadors for Children (GAFC), a non-profit based in Carmel, IN is excited about this upcoming year and all the opportunities for people to volunteer around the world.

CARMEL, IN, January 31, 2011

Starting this March, Global Ambassadors for Children will kick-off their humanitarian work and volunteer at San Jose' s largest orphanage, Vista de Mar in Cost Rica. This holds the most vulnerable children (either taken from their parents by the state or given up by their families). Most of the children have been emotionally, physically mistreated throughout their life. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful country side and go zip-lining through the rainforest.

In May and June, GAFC has two volunteer trips to Malawi, (one includes a 3 day safari to Zambia!) Volunteers will visit the Lilongwe Wild Life Center and see the exotic animals that roam the country. Volunteers will also have the chance to serve at Mtdenere Village, and help the orphaned children. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world and it is estimated that it is home to over a million orphan children. This is a statistic that Global Ambassadors for children is dedicated to eliminating.

In July, Global Ambassadors for Children is volunteering in Peru at the Hogar Mercedes de Jesus Molina orphanage. There has been a great concern of malnourishment with little access to health care and limited opportunities for education. In addition, volunteers will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to hike the infamous Inka Trail and see all sorts of wildlife, including the speckled bear!

In August, GAFC is volunteering at His House in Miami, Florida. This is a great trip for families with young children and those wanting to volunteer domestically. The children at his house are children that do have legal papers, children from Haiti as well as abused children who all need help.

Global Ambassadors for Children concludes 2011 with humanitarian work in December in Kenya providing service work in Eldoret at the Rescue Center. The Rescue Center is a facility catering to street children, abandoned children and rescued children.

In addition to this trip schedule, Global Ambassadors for Children is working hard to have project based volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in helping with medical, educational or infrastructure based initiatives please contact us!
