9/11 MEMORIAL SCULPTURES INTRODUCED BY MARK AND DIANE WEISBECK OF WEISBECK DESIGN

Mark and Diane Weisbeck announce the introduction of two new 9/11 Memorial Sculptures on this year, the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy, created to honor the memory of those lost during the events of 9/11.

2011-02-01
HONEOYE, NY, February 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Mark and Diane Weisbeck, the husband and wife international award winning sculptors, the only artists in the world to represent New York State in the Beijing Olympics, announce the introduction of two new 9/11 Memorial Sculptures on this year, the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy, the two sculptures are part of a series. "Silver Clouds" and "Remembrance and Renewal" are elegant, uplifting and thought provoking sculptures which are suitable for public or commercial spaces, civic centers, international government bodies, or any communities wishing to honor the memory of those individuals who gave their lives on that day.

The Weisbecks have created a new web site specifically for these sculptures, http://www.9-11memorialsculptures.com.

20 feet tall, of textured and dyed stainless steel and patinaed brass, evoking the silhouettes of the Twin Towers, the sculptures utilize elements of nature to pay tribute; using the earth's symbols of renewal and remembrance in the forms of stylized clouds and leaves.

The Weisbecks also recently installed, "Blast Off!" a 13 foot tall textured stainless steel "blasting off" rocket sculpture placed in front of the Cradle of Aviation Museum, Garden City, New York.

Mark and Diane Weisbeck have won many international public art commissions, as well as being the only artists in the world the represent both New York and the United States in the Beijing Olympics Landscape Sculpture Competition, winning the prestigious "Excellent Works Award. "In 2008, the Weisbecks installed "Water Spirits," a 32 foot tall, two and a half ton, brass, waterfront sculpture in Rochester, New York commissioned by the New York State Department of State. "Water Spirits" stands as the gateway sculpture to the city. In 2004, the Weisbecks were commissioned by the New York State Department of Transportation to create "Bridge Flowers," twelve light sculptures for the pylons of three consecutive bridges along the I-490 Highway in New York. In 2000, the Weisbecks won the International Sculpture Symposium in Changchun, China.

The Weisbeck's sculptures stand around the globe. They have won awards for modern product design as well as public and private sculpture. Visit http://www.9-11memorialsculptures.com and artandaccessoriesbyweisbeck.com as well as http://www.weisbeckdesign.com for more information.
