Pets Best Insurance Customer Ratings Continue to Climb

Pet insurance company says dedication to customer service and transparency catapult ratings on PetInsuranceReview.com.

2011-02-02
BOISE, ID, February 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Pets Best Insurance's commitment to customer service and satisfaction has landed the company a high rating from satisfied customers on http://www.petinsurancereview.com/petsbest.asp.

The site, which allows consumers to post their personal experiences and opinions about pet insurance, provides a public forum for feedback on 12 U.S. pet insurance companies.

The website, which is not owned or controlled by any pet insurance company, is updated on a monthly basis with the goal to "assist pet owners who are shopping for pet insurance."

"It's no accident that our customers give us great ratings," Dr. Jack Stephens, founder and president said. "We take great pride in our customer service; we've made it a point of emphasis."

Pets Best Insurance, which was founded in 2005 and is one of the largest pet insurance companies in the U.S., actively and consistently invites its policy holders to provide public feedback.

"We solicit customer feedback at multiple points of customer contact--for example, after they've submitted a claim or contacted us to talk with our customer care team," Stephens said. "We don't just ask for feedback when we know our customers are happy. We want to know how we're doing and what we can do better."

Aside from welcoming clients to post questions, concerns or feedback on the company's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/petsbestinsurance. Pets Best Insurance also urges policy holders to post their experiences directly on the Pet Insurance Review website, and even reminds them to do so in customer care emails--which might be another reason the company's rating currently sits at a 9.7 out of 10 for reviews posted in the last 60 days.

"We're particularly pleased with the scores we've received on Pet Insurance Review over the past year--our one year customer rating is an 8.8," Stephens said. "This tells me that our customers recognize and appreciate our focus on building a company that delivers a great customer experience."

"We believe in transparency before the sale and great customer care after," Stephens said. "These are some of the reasons why customers enroll with Pets Best Insurance and stay with us."

Pets Best Insurance offers three standard plans for accidents and illnesses: The Pets Basic plan, which comes with a $100, $250 or $500 deductible, a $2,500 per incident limit and a $42,500 lifetime limit; the Pets First plan, which comes with a $100, $250 or $500 deductible, a $7,000 per incident limit and a $100,000 lifetime limit; or the Pets Premier plan, which comes with a $250 or $500 deductible, a $14,000 per incident limit and a $100,000 lifetime limit.

The company provides an 80 percent reimbursement of qualifying fees for veterinary services after the deductible has been met. Advantages of Pets Best Insurance include no upper age restrictions, which means no pet is excluded from coverage based on age, as well as a simple, fast and convenient online claim submission and reimbursement - most approved claims are processed and paid within five days or less.

Stephens said the pet insurance company continues to maintain its profitability regardless of the wavering economy and attributes this to Pets Best Insurance's dedication to customer service.

"Pets Best Insurance consistently reviews our operations and we continually evaluate ways we can better serve our customers," Stephens said.

Island-scale study reveals climate-change effects

2011-02-01
A large-scale UC Davis experiment with ants, lizards and seaweed on a dozen Caribbean islands shows that predicting the effects of environmental change on complex natural ecosystems requires a large laboratory. The study, which was led by UC Davis ecologist Jonah Piovia-Scott, is described in today's issue of the journal Science. Piovia-Scott said previous studies have found that environmental changes (such as shifts in temperature, precipitation or storm severity) can affect ecosystems by adding or taking away plant and animal species, as well as by shifting the seasonal ...
