Gallop, Johnson & Neuman Expands Business Bankruptcy Practice Group with Two Veteran Attorneys

David A. Lander and Eric C. Peterson Join the Firm as Partners with Broad Expertise in Banking and Business Reorganizations

ST. LOUIS, MO, February 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) David A. Lander and Eric C. Peterson, two accomplished attorneys with substantial experience in matters of bankruptcy, creditors rights, business reorganization and related litigation, have joined Gallop, Johnson & Neuman, L.C. as Partners as the St. Louis-based law firm continues to expand its business practice.

Mr. Lander and Mr. Peterson are leading the Business Bankruptcy Practice Group to address client needs for legal expertise in matters of distressed businesses, business reorganization, bankruptcy and related litigation. In addition to leading the Business Bankruptcy Practice Group, Mr. Lander and Mr. Peterson will work with Gallop attorneys in cross-practice areas that include Alternative Dispute Resolution, Banking, Creditor's Rights, Hotels & Hospitality, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate and others.

David Lander has represented secured creditors, mortgagees, unsecured creditors, debtors and unsecured creditors' committees in out-of-court workouts, Chapter 11 reorganizations and enforcement of creditors' rights. His practice also includes representing purchasers of businesses in financial distress. Mr. Lander has authored many articles and book chapters focusing on agribusiness finance, business loan workouts and bankruptcy, among other legal topics. He has been listed among The Best Lawyers in America for more than fifteen years.

In addition, Mr. Lander is a member of the National Bankruptcy Conference, the American College of Bankruptcy, the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and served on the National Study Committee on the revision of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. He is a graduate of The University of Chicago Law School.

Eric Peterson has represented banks, closely held companies, high net worth individuals, executives, entrepreneurs, firms seeking to reorganize under Chapter 11, official creditor and bondholder committees, and bankruptcy trustees. His background includes service at major law firms including Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP and Los Angeles-based Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff, Inc. where, annually from 2005 to 2010, he was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star by Los Angeles Magazine. In addition, Mr. Peterson was featured on the cover of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine in connection with work relating to the personal protection of corporate officers and directors of companies in Chapter 11.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Peterson worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs and as a lead committee consultant in the California Legislature, and served in offices of state and federal elected officials. He is the author of numerous articles dealing with bankruptcy, intellectual property, and antitrust matters, among other legal issues. Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Boston University School of Law.
