The FAB Rudies Come Roaring Back

Rising like a phoenix from the horizon, The FAB Rudies are back and better than ever with a rejuvenated lineup, a new record, and boatloads of hot shows on their calendar.

HOLLYWOOD, CA, February 03, 2011

Rising like a phoenix from the horizon, The FAB Rudies are back and better than ever with a rejuvenated lineup, a new record, and boatloads of hot shows on their calendar. Landing with enough force to generate a tidal wave capable of sweeping their Oceanside, California home out to sea, this six piece is poised to vault themselves skyward to new heights of popularity and attention. Blending classic two-tone ska with contemporary pop punk and infectious, soulful vocals, The FAB Rudies are picking up steam in a hurry.

With over 14 years under their belts and following an impressive level of success, the original Fabulous Rudies broke up in 2008, only to give way to the fresher, leaner reincarnation greeting music fans today. Founding member and singer Tommy2Rude Voris rebuilt the group with a young, yet experienced lineup, featuring his 15-year-old daughter Kailyn taking the reins on lead vocal duty. Like a shot of adrenaline to the heart, The FAB Rudies were revitalized, and quickly began penning new songs, landing gigs, and setting up prospective record deals.

By December 2010, the group released Help Me through Tate Music Group, which features eight tracks of thoughtful, catchy songwriting driven by Kailyn's incredible vocal talent. While drawing comparisons to bands such as No Doubt or Paramore, The FAB Rudies continue to carve out their niche amongst pop punk, ska, and alternative music fans.

Following the release of their latest LP, two of the tracks were picked up for the Punk Rock High School soundtrack. The FAB Rudies are already set up to expand further into films during 2011, including Beach Bar, which their version of "Tears of a Clown" has been selected for the title track. Set for release in 2012, Music High will see the band performing as themselves in addition to contributing music on the soundtrack to be released by Universal. Finally, the group was also the first band to be nominated as Rock Artist of the Year by the Los Angeles Music Awards in 2011 at a recent event.

The whirlwind of music and exposure driven by the release of Help Me, as well as electrifying live performances including perennial appearances on Van's Warped Tour has created a flood of media attention. Alternative Press, Music Connection, Variance Magazine, and Alwayz Therro have all quickly picked up on The FAB Rudies' vibe, as they continue to attract positive attention from coast to coast.

"[The FAB Rudies are] on the crest of the next wave in alternative music," said Kevin Lyman, founder and organizer of Van's Warped Tour.

Look for The FAB Rudies to tour throughout most of 2011, along with a coveted spot on the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas on March 17. Visit the band's official MySpace or Facebook pages for tour dates, photos, videos, and streaming audio to catch the next wave of bona fide Southern California fire.
