Raleigh-Durham IREM Chapter to Present Two-Day Human Resources Seminar

Seminar designed to help professionals in staff selection, productivity, and turnover

RALEIGH, NC, February 06, 2011

The Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter 105 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) will be presenting "HRS402: Human Resource Essentials for Real Estate Managers" on February 7-8 at the Drucker and Falk Training Center located at 7200 Stonehenge Drive, Suite 202B in Raleigh. The highly-interactive, two-day seminar is designed to give human resource professionals the ability to successfully face the challenges of hiring, managing, and evaluating on-site staff and to discover how to operate a seamless human resources function.

HRS402 will be led by Glenn French, CPM Emeritus. French is president of G.L. French and Associates, Inc. located in Raleigh, NC. The firm provides real estate management consulting and training services to both the public and private sectors and specializes in troubled properties. He also serves in a contractual capacity as the Executive Director of Saint Augustine's College's Center for Real Estate Management and Development.

French has served on the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM)'s national faculty since 1979, earning Senior Instructor and Dean status. He is an active IREM member and has served on many national committees. On the local level, he is a past president of the Boston Metropolitan Chapter of the Institute and has chaired the Ethics and Discipline Committee for IREM's Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter as well as its Education Committee. French says that of all the CPM qualification courses, students may benefit most from HRS402.

"The challenges encountered in the management of and interaction with people impact all the other disciplines associated with property management," explains French. "We get more opinions and personal experiences that benefit the class than in the other courses. By comparison, the marketing, financial and maintenance courses have more definitive outcomes."

HRS402 will help human resource professionals select the right people for each job, maximize the productivity of staff, and reduce both the financial and emotional costs associated with turnover. Attendees will learn Planning and Requirements: Staffing needs, job responsibilities and skills, and job descriptions; Recruitment and Selection: Candidate qualification, employment offers and contracts, and alternative staffing options; and Training and development: Learning styles, training delivery, training programs, and career development.

The cost of the seminar is $590 (Premier Member Rate), $680 (Classic Member Rate) and $735 (Non-member Rate). Call (800) 837-0706 for more information or visit http://tinyurl.com/68uqo73 to register online.
