Realistic Measures & Consulting Launches New Tutorial Guide, Becoming a Better Tutor

Tutoring can be a lucrative home-based business, and new book, Becoming a Better Tutor shows you just how.

2011-02-09
ROUND ROCK, TC, February 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Educated stay at home parents and retired workers looking for a home-based business, are presented the perfect opportunity with the launch of Becoming A Better Tutor. This 156 page book, available in hard cover, soft cover and as an eBook, is a step by step guide to starting and maintaining a full time tutorial business. The book is written in a simple, easy to understand format, suitable for even a high-school student looking to begin a part-time tutoring career.

Says author, Dr. Alicia Holland-Johnson, "As more and more teachers find less and less time to devote to individual students, at-home tutoring has stepped in to fill the niche. It's a booming industry in North America, conservatively estimated at $10 billion and growing. The book is a starting point for any individual who is running a tutorial business or wants to set one up."

The book shares the secrets to

• developing a curriculum that fits the needs of clients
• marketing strategies to promote the business and widen the client base
• tracking student and tutor goals and objectives effectively
• easy bookkeeping techniques

Dr. Holland-Johnson is a mother of two and a long-time tutor. Being in the education field, she has a deep understanding of what lay-offs mean to those in the industry. Adds Dr. Holland-Johnson, "I hope in the current economic climate, where jobs are becoming hard to come by and lay-offs have become an industry norm, teachers can benefit from my book by starting a new career as tutors, or by supplementing their income with a part-time tutorial business."

Dr. Holland-Johnson has combined her extensive knowledge and years in the tutoring field to write this, her second book. She is also the author of 8 Steps to Helping Your Child in School.
