LOS ANGELES, CA, February 09, 2011

Women Standing Tall (WST), a nonprofit organization focused on supporting services for women and families in need and AIDS organizations, has partnered with Terrell Owens to present the second WST Celebrity Charity Bowl-a-Thon, taking place on Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Lucky Strike, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., Ste 143, Hollywood, CA. This event will kick off NBA All-Star Weekend, and will be attended by numerous pro athletes and entertainers supporting these efforts. Tickets are available for public.

"I couldn't be more excited to partner with WST for this special event, and to help generate awareness and funds for resources benefitting AIDS organizations and quality public education for families and children," said Terrell Owens.

The star-studded celebrity list includes: Terrell Owens, Brandy and Ray J, Gary Payton, Mark Curry, Taraji P. Henson, Shaunie O'Neal, Pitbull, Too Short, Erika Ringor and many others.

"We are thrilled by the excitement of our athlete and entertainment friends to participate in this year's event, and are inspired by the organizations that we've selected to be beneficiaries of the bowl-a-thon," said WST co-founder Monique Payton. "These causes are very near and dear to our hearts, and this is our humble way of doing what we can to support communities in great need."

Organizations that will benefit from this year's event include:

Project Angel Food (Los Angeles) - Project Angel Food focuses on nourishing the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. WST has worked with numerous organizations that support communities affected by HIV/AIDS - an initiative close to Ms. Payton who suffered the loss of a close relative from AIDS.

Seattle Public Schools, District 7 (Seattle) - WST members have volunteered many hours with students and families in the public schools served under District 7, which includes approximately 23 schools from elementary to high school, all of which have been severely affected by budget cuts. WST is creating a scholarship and grant program to support the tireless efforts of Seattle School Board Director, District 7, Betty Patu, and the underserved youth in her district.

Past beneficiaries of WST have included the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Justin Timberlake Foundation, Aid for AIDS of Nevada and Stay Strong Foundation.

"The bowl-a-thon is such a unique event where our celebrities, sponsors and guests have the opportunity to hang out in an intimate and exciting atmosphere and support an amazing cause," said WST co-founder Virginia Owens. "We are so thankful for our amazing friends and sponsors that make this event come to life, and can't wait for the evening to begin."
