LOS ANGELES, CA, February 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Filing income taxes can be a daunting, confusing, and costly endeavor for anyone. Oftentimes, it is one of these three reasons that people fail to file their taxes on time or, sometimes, even at all. After not filing for one year, often the same people are intimated the following year from addressing the previous year's oversight and pretty soon a few years go by before they decide to rectify the situation.
As was the case for Mr. Oizondo (Orlando, FL) who came to the Blue Tax offices distraught that he had not filed a single tax return in six years. The Blue Tax team quickly responded by preparing and filing all his returns. In the time Blue Tax and Mr. Oizondo were waiting for a response from the IRS, Blue Tax prepared a financial analysis based on Mr. Oizondo's income, assets, and expenses to prove to the IRS what he was capable of paying. Once the IRS posted the balances owed, the result was that the client owed an outstanding debt of $39,000. However, because Blue Tax had prepared the client's financial analysis, they were armed with the information to challenge the IRS's findings with what was a practical and reasonable solution to this debt.
The IRS reviewed the package that Blue Tax submitted, thereby agreeing to the request of placing the client in a Currently Non-Collectable (CNC) status. The Blue Tax team also explained to the client that he may be eligible for a Offer In Compromise (OIC) based on the amount of debt owed and his financial analysis which demonstrated that he was upside down in his monthly expenses.
In the end, the client was able to sleep soundly knowing that his debts had all been accounted for and that he could possibly even be approved for an Offer In Compromise which could reduce his debt even further. Blue Tax came through with a great ending to a client's stressful situation once again.
