Tweet and Give Users Tweet for Charity

New York-based Tweet And Give LLC releases a Twitter app that enables users to earn donations for charity simply by Tweeting, at no cost to users.

2011-02-15
BROOKLYN, NY, February 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) TweetAndGive.org is a free, full featured, web-based Twitter app that allows users to Tweet, read their Twitter timeline, see their mentions, and much more. Every page on the site displays small banner ads that are paid for by corporate sponsors. TweetAndGive donates a minimum of 80% of the site's gross ad revenue to a select group of charities, including the Humane Society, Doctors Without Borders, and the Innocence Project. Users choose which among the selected charities to support, and support is as simple as logging in and Tweeting to drive ad revenue.

TweetAndGive users are encouraged to invite others to use the app. All of a user's Twitter followers who use the app are automatically part of the user's Giving Group, with the Group's total donations displayed to the user. A "Top 10 Giving Groups" leader board challenges users to build their Giving Groups and watch their donation totals rise. Displaying Giving Group donation totals gives the user a glimpse into how TweetAndGive harnesses the power of a large social network and channels its activity into creating a positive impact on the world.

Scott Leisawitz, Founder of Tweet And Give explains, "We were originally inspired by the model used by FreeRice.com: just by having fun playing a trivia game on the site daily, users drive advertisement-supported charitable giving. We want to build on that idea and translate Twitter's massive user activity into donations for charities we all care about."

TweetAndGive.org (http://tweetandgive.org) is a free web-based Twitter app that enables users to earn donations for charities simply by Tweeting, at no cost to users. A minimum of 80% of the site's gross advertising revenue is donated to selected charities.
