LOS ANGELES, CA, February 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) On the cover of the current version is Ginuwine, the multi-platinum R&B and Hip-Hop artist. Hoodgrown presents the latest in African-American and Latino culture, urban music and lifestyle. Part of the magazine is devoted to established artists with the rest concerned with introducing the work of newcomers.
The Hip-Hop magazine, the first in the genre for the iPad, is published monthly. For the technical framework, the publisher relies on Alligator Digital Magazines (ADM). ADM is designed for producers of high quality content that are looking for a powerful but easy-to-use solution for publishing to tablet computers.
ADM has already made use of the In-App Purchase system. This system, according to press reports, is set to become the standard for magazine apps within the next few weeks. It offers benefits to reader and publisher alike. The publisher can build a new business model around the additional revenue stream while users can purchase content with just a few clicks as they have come to expect.
Unlike traditional magazine apps, ADM for the iPad is based on HTML: "The past has shown," says Andre Nitze, CEO of ADM, "that only standards have a chance at a long life within the digital world. HTML is much more flexible for generating and laying out content that other methods. With Alligator Digital Magazines multimedia content such as entertainment magazines with video or scientific journals with interactive charts are easily realized."
