Jurex Helps Nurses Enter Legal Field As Experts

Nurses can use their nursing skills to earn more money as expert witnesses. The key is to get certified and Jurex Center for Legal Nurse Consulting provides this with their 2-day Professional Legal Nurse Consultant certification.

MEMPHIS, TN, February 18, 2011

A new option is here for nurses to use their nursing skills - by becoming a nurse expert witness. Every year there are thousands of court cases requiring knowledge of a medical expert witness. Jurex Center for Legal Nurse Consulting is hosting a 2-day legal nurse certification course in Atlanta, Nashville, Cincinnati and Chicago in March, April, May & June to train nurses to acquire work as expert witnesses. Certified practitioners can augment their existing nurse jobs, or work full-time, with consulting work at law firms, insurance agencies or hospitals, to cite a few options within the healthcare field.

The founder of Jurex, Elizabeth G. Rudolph, an attorney, nurse and legal nurse consultant, created the venture in 2006 to "empower nurses" and teach them to become expert witnesses. Rudolph designed the course and accompanying manual, How To Be A Professional Legal Nurse Consultant, with brevity in mind. She distills a vast amount of information into an easily digestible two day certification course, and places the emphasis on the two main tenants of the practice: teaching and certifying nurses to partner with attorneys to review medical records in medical-legal cases as well as marketing their skills to the legal community.

The live courses will be held in Atlanta on March 26 & 27, Nashville on April 9 & 10, Cincinnati on April 30 & May 1 and Chicago on June 4 & 5. Nurses will receive their Professional Legal Nurse Consultant (PLNC) certification from Jurex Center for Legal Nurse Consulting upon completion of the seminar and Rudolph will be on hand to personally conduct the certification course.

"Professional Legal Nurse Consultants provide an invaluable service to the legal community," Rudolph said. "This live course is designed to give nurses more choices and the tools they need to exercise those choices."

For those who cannot attend the event, the 2-day PLNC course is offered in three additional formats: Video Course, Audio Course and E-Course. These alternatives can still be completed in two days and all PLNC course formats cover the basics of starting a legal nurse consulting business plus a general primer on the law.
