LateRooms.com - See Guitar God Santana in Berlin

Berlin music fans can see Carlos Santana and his band at the O2 World on October 16th.

2010-09-07
BERLIN, GERMANY, September 07, 2010 (Press-News.org) People using Berlin hotels will have an opportunity to see legendary guitarist Carlos Santana live on stage next month.

Santana, the band named after the Mexican virtuoso, are set to play at the German capital's O2 World on Saturday October 16th as part of their forthcoming European tour.

Fans attending the concert will be able to see Carlos perform alongside other talented musicians such as Tony Lindsay on vocals, drummer Dennis Chambers and Tommy Anthony on guitar.

Formed in the late 1960s, the group has gone through many line-up changes since the early days but remains one of the world's foremost rock, salsa and jazz fusion ensembles.

This is partly down to the musicianship and energy of Santana himself, who continues to tour regularly at the age of 63.

Santana proposed to his girlfriend, the American jazz rock drummer Cindy Blackman, midway through a performance in Chicago earlier this summer.

Reviewing a July concert at the Mohegan Sun venue in the US, Kevin O'Hare of masslive.com said the performer "delivered enough eye-popping guitar artistry to leave a lifetime impression on anyone lucky enough to witness the wonder".

The critic noted that Santana's set included an "incredible take" on Jingo, one of their earliest hits from 1969.

Younger fans attending the concert at the O2 World are more likely to call for songs from Supernatural, the group's 1999 album.

This hugely successful record features the smash hit Smooth with vocalist Rob Thomas and Maria Maria, Santana's collaboration with Wyclef Jean.

A new album, entitled Guitar Heaven, is due for release on September 21st and will feature a host of famous guest vocalists.

Tickets for the Berlin concert, which will get underway at 20:00 local time, are priced between EUR65.25 and EUR89.45 (GBP54.30 and GBP74.50) plus booking fee.

For more information on this event, visit the O2 World website.
