NEW YORK, NY, September 07, 2010 (Press-News.org) Veronafiere, the organizer of Vinitaly and Wine Enthusiast, one of America's leading wine publications for wine-loving consumers and the wine trade, announced today that Wine Enthusiast will be the media partner for the Vinitaly US Tour 2010 (www.vinitalytour.com). The US Tour includes a stop in New York for 'Vinitaly Day at Eataly' on October 25th and the first-ever tour stop in Philadelphia on October 27th.
"The event in New York at Eataly marks the first time we have ever had a consumer tasting component as part of the Vinitaly World Tour," explained Ettore Riello, President of Veronafiere. "Given Wine Enthusiast's popularity with both wine trade and American wine drinkers, we think they are a perfect fit to help us achieve our goal: promoting Italy's best wines to American wine lovers." All proceeds from the consumer tasting, ticketed at $55, will go to the American Cancer Society (http://www.cancer.org), another first-time partner for Veronafiere.
Adam Strum, publisher and editor-in-chief of Wine Enthusiast, added, "For 25 years Wine Enthusiast Magazine has been a key American media company participating in the spectacular Vinitaly fair. Italian cuisine is American's number one choice for dining and Italy is America's #1 tourist destination. Therefore Wine Enthusiast is very excited to partner with Veronafiere to help bring a taste of Vinitaly to American consumers and wine trade with these wonderful events held in the United States."
The Vinitaly World Tour 2010 (of which the US Tour is one component) is organized by Veronafiere in collaboration with Italy's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF); Buonitalia SpA, the Italian governmental agency responsible for promoting the best of Italian wines and food; and the Italian Trade Commission. In addition to the US, the Vinitaly 2010 World Tour will make stops in Hong Kong and Tokyo in the fall of 2010.
