Cold Weather is No Match for LI's Hottest Tennis Event!

Daylong, all-ages, indoor family event set for Sunday, March 6 at Farmingdale State College

LONG ISLAND, NY, February 28, 2011 (Press-News.org) Long Island Tennis Magazine, the Ultimate Guide for Long Island Tennis, has announced that the schedule for the 2nd Annual Long Island Tennis Expo, taking place Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Farmingdale State College in Roosevelt Hall (Auditorium and Expo Room) has been finalized. This indoor event is free to attendees of all ages and will be presented by USTA Eastern/Long Island Region and Long Island Tennis Magazine. A crowd of more than 1,200 tennis enthusiasts is expected to attend the daylong event full of interactive presentations, tennis demonstrations, exhibitors, games and more.

The event will feature the all-ages interactive Center Court activity area, featuring the Dave & Buster's Kids Activity Zone with prizes and video games; QuickStart Tennis instruction for kids; a Speed Serve booth to measure the speed of your serve; a Beach Tennis demo area; a free sports fitness analysis; and a free showcase with local camps and clubs, and equipment and apparel.

In addition to the Center Court activities, the event will also feature a panel discussion from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on the topic "The Road to College Tennis Scholarships." Local juniors, top tennis pros, college tennis coaches and former professional players will comprise the panel of experts sharing their expert analysis of making the jump to the collegiate level.

From 11:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., the Expo Hall doors and attendees will have the chance to meet Long island's top tennis vendors and have the opportunity to sample and purchase products directly from the sport's top exhibitors. The Expo will host the leaders in tennis clubs, summer camps, tennis professionals, training techniques, manufacturers, experts in the field of sports medicine, training facilities, reps from colleges and universities, health food and energy drinks, tennis travel destinations, and much more.
