LANCASTER, PA, March 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) The University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry recently deployed a digital signage project throughout its San Francisco campus. Working with ConnectedSign, a prominent integrator of Digital Signage systems, the school has improved its campus communication methods by establishing a connection with students, staff, faculty, patients and visitors through digital technology.
The idea to begin using digital signage originated from conversations with students, faculty, staff and the Department of Information Technology, with the initiative receiving support from the dental school's dean, Dr. Patrick J. Ferrillo, Jr. Setting out to find a solution, the IT team looked for easy to use software with a user friendly interface and discovered many other academic institutions had worked with ConnectedSign for digital signage deployments. ConnectedSign offered the dental school software and training, hardware, content management and design services - and created a digital signage package tailored specifically to the school's needs.
"The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry has evolved our communication methods with digital signage," states Raybel L. Ramos, Director of Information Technology and Telecommunications at the dental school. "By utilizing ConnectedSign's software, and with the collaboration of many school departments including Design & Photo, Marketing & Communications and IT, we are able to better engage our school community with news and information that's relevant to their daily lives."
The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry worked with ConnectedSign to create a digital signage solution for the school that consists of a dozen 46-inch, wall-mounted LED HDTV monitors throughout the dental school's main building and remote clinics. The signage has the ability to display messages, schedules, menus, school and community images, RSS feeds and weather. Due to the effectiveness of the project, the dental school is optimistic about expanding the digital signage system to other remote clinic locations in the near future.
