NOVATO, CA, March 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) In a bad job market, the future looks to be green. According to a study by the Pew Charitable Trust, green jobs in the U.S, are up 9.1 percent, and the latest statistics from Next 10, a San Francisco nonprofit, reveals the California "core green economy" grew three times more than the state's brown economy in the last few years. How can you find employment in the burgeoning green sector? That's the topic of the next Experts Connection (www.experts-conneciton.com) teleseminar, "Clean/Green Energy Economy - Do You Have What It Takes to Be Part of the New 'Green Rush?'," with Celia Canfield, founder of green technology consultancy EcoVertex. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. ET, (1:00 - 2:30 p.m. PT), and is sponsored by NETSHARE (www.netshare.com).
Just as technology was driving innovation two decades ago, cleaner/greener practices, services, and products are driving today's innovation and economy. The challenge facing professionals is how to transition to become part of the "green rush." In this 90-minute teleseminar, Celia will explain ways to highlight your environmental expertise, and she will demonstrate to attendees that you may be greener than you think.
Topics of discussion will include:
• What is meant by sustainability, clean technology, green economy, and clean energy?
• How do you take your professional experience and repackage it to make yourself a viable candidate for these new jobs?
• What skills should do you need to highlight? Do you need a green MBA?
• Are there more opportunities in the private or public sector?
• Is the interviewing process different for green jobs?
• How do you follow the green money trail?
• How do you identify and avoid "green-washing" activities and opportunities?
"The green sector is showing the greatest career growth in today's economy and now is the right time to determine if you have what it takes to go green," said Katherine Simmons, CEO of NETSHARE and host of the Experts Connection teleseminars. "Whether you are looking at career opportunities in the public or the private sector, green business requires a solid understanding of best business practices. In this teleseminar, Celia will be able to demonstrate how you can apply what you know today to take advantage of the green job opportunities that will define our future."
The Experts Connection teleseminar series gives executives access to leading career experts. The cost of the seminar is $60, $50 for NETSHARE members, and access is provided via web and telephone. For more information, visit the Experts Connection online at http://www.experts-connection.com.
