LANSING, MI, March 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) A unique web portal for visualizing and managing major construction projects, built with Visual Fusion software, is the subject of a new case study. The study details how ENGlobal Corporation, a provider of engineering and project management services, created a solution that lets users instantly grasp the status of each project. ENGlobal created the portal with Visual Fusion business intelligence software from IDV Solutions. Visual Fusion unites data sources in a visual, interactive context for better insight and understanding.
The portal provides ENGlobal's project engineers and clients with color-coded map views of complex projects such as pipelines and electrical transmission lines. Such projects can entail hundreds of land acquisitions and right-of-way agreements, and require ongoing coordination among ENGlobal, its clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. The Visual Fusion solution consolidates project planning and tracking, document management, reporting, and client collaboration.
The solution complements the company's investment in traditional GIS systems, by combining spatial data with engineering drawings, contracts, aerial photos, Web feeds, and databases, and making it all available in real time from one location. The study is available for downloading from the IDV website, at: http://www.idvsolutions.com/Documents/ENGlobal_case_study.pdf

Lindstrom Air Challenges the Age Old Adage "If it Ain't Broke, Don't Fix it!"
2011-03-04
Isn't that the old adage most of us go by? When things are moving along smoothly in our lives we often don't pay attention to the details, one of those details being regular maintenance on our heating and cooling system. We figure why fix something that's not broken, right?
