TORONTO, ON, March 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dr. Richard Rival (http://www.rivalcosmeticsurgery.com) recently received recognition as a cosmetic surgery expert in an article in Elevate magazine about cosmetic surgery financing. In the article, Dr. Rival notes that for many people who have had procedures such as a face lift in Toronto, the increase in self-esteem and confidence is priceless.
"My Toronto cosmetic surgery clients tell me that they look at their plastic surgery as an investment," Dr. Rival says. "When people look better, they feel better - and this applies to all aspects of their personal and professional life. They are more successful in their career and more friendly and outgoing in social situations."
The article, which appears in the November/December issue of Elevate, also highlights Dr. Rival as a Toronto surgeon who is flexible with patients who request third-party financing for their cosmetic surgery procedures. Dr. Rival accepts both Medicard and Credit Medical in order to better accommodate people whose surgeries are not included in their health insurance plans.
"Generally, cosmetic surgery procedures are not going to be covered by health insurance," Dr. Rival says. "Many of my patients prefer working with an outside financing company because it allows them to set up affordable monthly payments that they can manage."
Although third-party financing is a convenient payment option, Dr. Rival continues to stress the necessity of financial stability when considering plastic surgery.
"The importance of being in a secure position to afford cosmetic surgery can't be overstated," Dr. Rival says. "It's never advisable to rush into plastic surgery. There's nothing wrong with planning, saving, and waiting for the right time to have your procedure."
Dr. Rival specializes in cosmetic surgery for the face and notes that some of the most common procedures he performs at his practice include rhinoplasty, face lift, eyelid surgery, and brow lift. BOTOX is one of his most popular nonsurgical treatments, as it helps lessen the appearance of wrinkles and provide an overall more youthful appearance. While the cost of these procedures varies, Dr. Rival notes that, regardless of the expense, putting your "best face forward" is a high priority for many people.
"There's a phenomenon that has been studied called the 'halo effect,'" Dr. Rival explains. "Essentially, it suggests that we associate more positive attributes to attractive people - rating them as more likable, intelligent, and successful. I think most people understand this intuitively, even if they haven't read the research behind it. They want to 'get ahead' and know the value of their appearance in that equation. "
Dr. Richard Rival (http://www.rivalcosmeticsurgery.com) is a board-certified otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon specializing in nose surgery in Toronto. Dr. Rival graduated with honors from the University of Toronto medical school, is a diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and a fellow of the American and Canadian Academies of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He offers advanced options for primary and revision rhinoplasty patients from his offices in Toronto, Ontario.
