LITCHFIELD, IL, March 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Sierra has introduced a new line of Silverado 4000 fuel lines and primer bulbs engineered to meet both the latest environmental standards and the needs of the North American boating industry.
Effective January 1, 2011, the EPA extended its fuel line non-permeability standards to include primer bulbs. These new Sierra primer bulbs satisfy these new standards, as well as existing CARB and SAE J1527 Type B-15 standards for fuel hoses. In addition to meeting the latest standards, the new primer bulbs are ethanol resistant and maintain their flexibility over seasons of hard use and exposure to weather and sunlight.
While developing new primer bulbs to meet these more stringent environmental standards, Sierra took the opportunity to improve the company's fuel hoses, as well. "We designed the new Silverado 4000 Fuel Lines as the perfect compliment to our new primer bulbs. They not only perform better, but they are also easier for builders and riggers to work with," said Jim Lombardi, product manager for hose. Silverado 4000 is constructed with a non-permeable THV barrier layer, polyester reinforcement and a CPE weather and UV resistant cover. Silverado 4000 meet all current EPA and CARB standards. More importantly, this new formulation is more flexible and easier to rig, accepting fittings and clamps tightly for secure, trouble-free connections. In addition, these new hoses maintain their flexibility and durability under a range of extreme environmental conditions.
Silverado 4000 fuel lines and primer bulbs will be available to boat builders in a wide range of standard sizes and bulk packaging beginning February 2011. Like all Sierra products, they are backed by their limited lifetime customer satisfaction warranty.
