A badminton tournament is to take place at the Makati Coliseum.

MAKATI, PHILIPPINES, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Two venues in Makati City are to host the opening round of the Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament.

Taking place from March 27th to April 3rd, the first leg of four will includes singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches.

Powersmash will host the qualifying rounds, with the latter stages held at the Makati Coliseum.

Players will feature in one of the U15, U19 and Open categories in their chosen discipline.

The games will mark the first steps on the road to the VP Grand Prix Badminton Open Championships, which is to be held at the Makati Coliseum between October 22nd and 29th.

Prior to this event, PBaRS competitors will have to make it through the second and third leg tournaments, taking place between May and August.

The schedule for the opening round has been confirmed, with the U15 and U19 finals beginning on April 3rd at 09:00 local time.

This will be followed by the open finals, starting at 14:00.

Entrants were required to confirm their participation before March 5th.
