Blanket America Launches New Student Discount Blankets Program

Blanket America has launched a new program offering registered students a 20% discount on all blankets.

2011-03-11
NEW YORK, NY, March 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Blanket America, a textile manufacturer that donates a blanket to the needy for every product purchased, has taken its charitable initiative to a new level with store-wide student discounts. The company is offering its entire inventory of blankets, sheet sets and more to students at a 20% discount on http://www.BlanketAmerica.com. The discount will not affect the value of the donated items, only the balances in student shoppers' bank accounts.

"A lot of high school and college students are interested in helping the less fortunate, but between the costs of boarding, tuition and school supplies, they don't have a lot left over. We wanted to give students an opportunity to help needy groups and individuals without breaking the bank. Blanket America has always strived to provide affordable blankets, quilts and other textiles, and this student discount is making our products even more accessible," said Mesh Gelman, a co-founder of Blanket America.

Students need only provide a valid .edu email address at http://www.BlanketAmerica.com/education.php to receive a discount code by email. The discount applies to the entire website, so students can buy blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, curtains and even t-shirts — enough to equip a dorm room and then some. Blankets start as low as $20, and complete comforter sets can be purchased for only $59.99.

Blanket America primarily focuses on relieving domestic poverty, donating fleece blankets and other textiles to individuals and organizations with the help of acclaimed non-profit Gifts in Kind International. Blanket America has also donated and provided disaster relief in Haiti, a need that inspired the company's ongoing CHOOSE HAITI initiative.

"Our mission is all about helping people help others, letting them shop and give back at the same time. We generally focus on in-country donations, but we've taken a special interest in Haiti as well. Our CHOOSE HAITI initiative has been particularly lucrative, and now that students can use their 20% on CHOOSE HAITI products, like bracelets and t-shirts, we expect it to become even more so," Gelman said.

Find out more about Blanket America and its products on the Blanket America website at http://www.BlanketAmerica.com, or check out the company's Facebook and Twitter at http://www.facebook.com/BlanketAmerica and http://www.twitter.com/BlanketAmerica, respectively. The textile manufacturer also has a YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/BlanketAmerica, and a blog at http://www.BlanketAmericaBlog.com.

Blanket America offers fleece blankets and other textiles under the unique BUY 1, GIVE 1 policy, guaranteeing that every woven blanket purchased means one blanket given to an individual or organization in need. Visit http://www.BlanketAmerica.com to provide immediate aid when buying your next woven blanket or cotton sheet set.
