LOS ANGELES, CA, March 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Gulfstream G650, with a wingspan of just over ninety-three feet, costs $64.5 million and first took to the air last year. This large jet boasts a long-range cruise speed of mach 0.85 and a reaches a high-speed cruise of mach 0.925, taking passengers closer to the speed of sound than any other business jet on the market. The G650 has the capability to travel for 7,000 nautical miles nonstop with up to eight passengers and four crew members. The speed and size of this jet make it very popular among charter jet companies like Luxury Business Jets, who are eagerly awaiting it's release into the market.
The power behind the G650 comes from a pair of Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, supplying 16,100-pounds of thrust. More efficient than the R710, these engines provide five percent more take-off thrust, better fuel efficiency, five percent fewer nitrogen oxide emissions, and ten percent less smoke, making these models thirty-three percent quieter. Noise levels have been reduced to seventeen decibels below the Stage 4 standards. Impressively, the BR 725s rate 10,000 hours between overhauls which is equivalent to twenty-four years of average corporate operation. Gulfstream took great care in designing this jet small enough so that it could still land in places that ban aircraft that are over 100,000 pounds but large enough that it will have to rely on ground-based systems.
The cabin of the G650 was designed from the inside out, comfortably seating up to eighteen passengers in the living environment. The cabin can also be configured into one of twelve unique floor plans to suit the needs of the passengers. The Executive Aft or Forward Galley configurations seats thirteen passengers and birthing room for an additional five or eleven seats with the added crew accommodations floor plan option. The Universal and Hallmark configurations seat fifteen or sixteen passengers respectively, with birthing room for six people each. With crew accommodations, the Universal and Hallmark floor plans comfortably seat thirteen or fourteen people respectively, still leaving birthing room for six people in this option as well. With so many degrees of customization, this jet is highly anticipated by business travelers and recreational passengers alike, and it is creating quite a buzz at charter jet companies.
