OC Spinal Decompression Offers Tips and Techniques for Back Pain

The Irvine Family Health and Spinal Decompression Center, which offers the revolutionary DRX9000 spinal decompression therapy,

2011-03-12
ORANGE COUNTY, CA, March 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Irvine Family Health and Spinal Decompression Center, which offers the revolutionary DRX9000 spinal decompression therapy, recently offered a series of therapeutic techniques to anyone suffering from back or neck pain. Some of the tips come directly from the American Chiropractic Association as a way to help those who live life in unnecessary pain.

The first tip comes from the ACA and it involves the stress that many people feel during the holiday. According to the ACA, although the holidays are officially over there is no guarantee that the stress will just disappear with the arrival of the New Year. Many of us still carry a lot of stress on our backs and shoulders, even though many of those holiday stresses are now gone. To help with this holiday stress, which can exacerbate lower back pain and neck pain, the ACA recommends that people only lift heavy objects with their legs, that they remove heavy items from any bags or purses and that they stretch their muscles directly before and after any physical activity.

In addition to watching what you lift, the ACA recommends that people watch what they think about, too. Positive thinking, aromatherapy, herbal teas, and regular massages can not only contribute to better physical health but these things have been known to improve mental health also. The ACA also recommends that people treat travel like an athletic event. That means warming up before getting into a vehicle or plane and it means cooling down once the destination is reached. When people are seated, they should occasionally shift their position to help avoid leg cramps.

The Irvine Family Health and Spinal Decompression Center, specializes in physical therapy and treats a number of ailments including:

• Physical therapy
• Sciatica
• Disc bulge
• Herniated disc
• Spinal stenosis
• Ruptured disc
• Bulging discs
• Bulging disc
• Pinched nerve
• Pinched sciatic nerve
• Degenerative disc disease
• And more.

The practice released a few of its own tips, as well. One of those involved regular exercise, the limiting of caffeine and to keep one's bedroom cool and comfortable while resting. This will make sure the body gets plenty of the rest it needs to function at optimum levels.
