SAN DIEGO, CA, March 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) Textile manufacturers Spinners and Spinners reach out to the local region in Africa by supporting and financing several community projects.
Spinners and Spinners is a completely integrated composite textile mill which includes designing, manufacturing and marketing of blankets made from recycled pulled synthetic fibre and spun yarns as well as woven and knitted textile products made of 100 percent acrylic/polyester or other fibre blends.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Spinners and Spinners operation is its corporate social responsibility. As Dodhia explains "It is not only philanthropy where we just give money away to those who need it, it is more of a societal mission where family and community ethics are ingrained into the company culture."
Spinners and Spinners deal with the major supermarkets, distributors and wholesales across Africa. Interestingly, the company also started its own retail outlet selling products which evolved into a fully fledged distributor.
"Entrepreneurs can buy small amounts of goods and slowly build up their trading companies," says Dodhia. "We have seen people buy three or four blankets at a time to go on and become some of the biggest distributors in Kenya."
